Interview Wear

I had an interview last Monday and the company asked me to dress very professional because I would be attending appointments with them. Well....I despise those black pants that are completely unflattering that you always pair with a blazer and a cute top because they either are too long, too short, or totally hug your thighs and stretch out (well at least on me). However, I checked out Zara (of course) and came across these amazing pants that worked so perfectly for what I was looking for! I tried them in black but the beige just won me over. They were slim fitting and were cut just at the ankle and came with a skinny dark brown belt! So, if you are in need of some cute interview clothing since September is coming up, Zara has some great picks! Check out their blazers as well.

Also, for my purple dress shirt, J.Crew had an awesome sale on the other day. Regular $62 marked down to $37 I believe and then an additional 60% off that! So I ended up getting this beauty for $15!

Lastly, I was unsure as to what type of shoes to pair with the outfit and if I would be walking much so I just picked a pair of pointy 2 1/2 inch pale pink ones which were very comfy! And the finishing touch.....black blazer of course.

Outfits & Good Shopping

These are a couple of my outfits I have worn here. Sorry about the bad quality! I have done some shopping here and definitely found some great places to go for great deals!

I recommend to check out SoHo if you haven't already. Between Prince St. and Canal St. on Broadway is amazing shopping! All around this area is great actually. Popular stores you will come across are Steve Madden, PINK by VS, Necessary Clothing,  Brandy Melville, Forever 21, H & M, Zara, ect. If you are hungry, definitley stop at Dean and Deluca for some great fresh cheese, meat, sushi, chocolate....EVERYTHING.

Furthermore, all along 34th St. is wonderful!

212: New York City Adventure

So my home in the 212 has been an amazing experience so far! I have been here just over two weeks and have definitely started to feel more at home.

I am here because I am honoured to be carrying out an internship here in the fashion district. I have learned so much about this industry that you cannot learn from a textbook. I am truly grateful for this opportunity.

Here is a bit of an update of some pictures that I have taken! Hope to post many more soon so you guys can follow me on my journey as well!

WCFW Eco-Style

As mentioned before, my university student friends and myself created a student group at the University of Alberta in October 2011. We decided to call the group Eco-Style where we promote fashion sustainability. We have worked directly with GoodWill and have put on 4 fashion shows at the U of A campus and have been in both WCFW Spring 2012 and WCFW Spring 2013. This past WCFW we decided to work with GoodWIll again and completely re-create garment pieces. We had a collection of 18 outfits that strutted down the runway! Here are some pictures!

I was also featured on CTV Morning News Edmonton talking about one of the outfits I re-created!

WCFW

Every season I am involved in Western Canada Fashion Week here in Edmonton, AB. This has been my 5th year doing it and every new season brings so many more great collections! Here are some images of myself walking this past season (Spring 2013) for designers Bano eeMee and Emogene Couture.

New York city Internship - All you gotta do is fly

Exactly two weeks until I'm headed off to New York city for my internship to finish up my University Degree! I cannot be more excited. However, I am a little scared at the same time. This is the end of my 4 year degree meaning I can actually get on with my life and do what ever I want! This freedom feels wonderful and cannot even explain the different emotions I'm feeling right now but the big question I have to ask myself after New York is, What's next? Well... not sure. I'm going to take everyday as a new day and see what life brings me. My feeling of excitement conquers all! I have big dreams and the only way to catch them is to chase them.

Watch me fly.
